Featured Artwork: “Fabricate::Recreate” 7’x3’ Mixed Media

”Fabricate::Recreate” is a large mixed media on deep canvas that incorporates recycled fabrics and is covered in layers with acrylics, mica and water based spray paint. It took me a few months to complete. The theme is the ongoing process of personal and cosmic transformation or fabrication of “prima materia,” the primordial starting material. It also refers to style and *fab*ulousness given the use of fabrics, although here given a metallic spacey effect through many layers.

What’s especially interesting of late is that in my studies of electronics and electromagnetism is the letters F – A – B also signify parts of the equation for magnetic flux density. Force, Area, Magnetic Flux. I am not entirely sure how this equation is usually expressed but I fund the synchrony wonderful, as one the others paintings “Electrocardiogram” and “Translations” have the electromagnetic spectrum as inspiration.
