Art Of The Month: “The Nautilus”

This month’s selection is about love of nature, including space or the cosmos. “The Nautilus” is a portrait of a favorite shell taken a few years ago, more recently layered with a starry sky to optimistically convey humanity’s expansion beyond earth, in a way that’s respectful of all life.

Stylistically, I suppose you could say this is classic black & white with a touch of fantasy and surrealism with the layering. It also expresses the combination of spirituality and science; of exploration with stewardship.

To me it is powerfully gentle and idealistic, with a broad timeless appeal. And that’s why it is the February Art of the Month selection. <3
