The latest in a brightly colored series is “Flower Fusion Reactor Core” inspired by the power & energy of nature, as well as the new frontiers in technology, often best informed and influenced by earth sciences. Really, it all seems like earth or cosmic sciences split into subcategories!
Anyway, this exuberant piece is made of photos of Lantana Camara flowers to create the appearance of a fusion reactor, which mimics the sun’s power. The sun is of course also readily available to use for energy, yet fusion especially holds promise for space applications.
The piece also highlights the remarkable adaptations of plants in energy transfer and conversion, having had more evolution than humans in that regard!
