Maximizing Human Regenerative Processes Part 1. Sun Up, Sun Down

“Changes” by Studio Shangri-La

The earliest known forms of timekeeping, which is an expression of long term thinking, were found in the Semliki Valley of the modern day Congo, as a “hash-marked” bone dated 18000 BC,¹ and from later in 8000 BC, moon-shaped pits dug in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.²

More elaborate forms of timekeeping came with aboriginal and Meso-American cultures, ancient Egypt and Islam, and then the first mechanical clocks are attributed first to Chinese monk Yi Xing and then Egyptian Ptolemy.¹

Measurements and notions of time have evolved, yet sun up and sun down have remained the same. Nowadays though we have knowledge that goes beyond the relationship of Earth, Sun and Moon. For example, a day on Mercury lasts 1,408 hours, while a day on Neptune is 16 hours.³ And countless other different relationships occur in other star systems.

Those are all examples of Absolute Time. There is also the experience of Relative Time, in which “the rate at which time passes depends on your frame of reference,” introduced most famously by Einstein.⁴

And then beyond Relative Time, is the Quantum realm of Timelessness, or Infinity, in which immortality may be experienced. The effects of the quantum or spiritual on our environment and bodies have recently come into mainstream study and technological application.⁵

When it comes to the human body, the sun our star holds the most sway over our cycles of life. Our retinas respond to light and dark, along with a host of corresponding chemical reactions within us. When it’s day we are active; when it’s dark we sleep, or regenerate. Darkness causes production of melatonin in the brain’s pineal gland. This is the typical Circadian Rhythym. The term comes from the Latin phrase “circa diem” or “around the day.”

The easiest way to maximize Sleep, one of our most valuable regenerative processes, is to follow the circadian rhythm of Sun Up / Sun Down. Many find it difficult to pull away from the stimulating light of electronic devices at night, but the solution is simple: After a certain hour, it’s time to power down.

Edgar Allen Poe once dramatically referred to sleep as “little slices of death,” which underscores the powerful importancy of cycles of dormancy to our biology. Many plants and animals use dormancy to dramatically prolong life.⁶

https://www.yourquote.in/madhulika-sarkar-7v1/quotes/death-solution-asked-no-sleep-she-replied-c16xn

Sleep cycles affect the entire human body down to cellular and molecular levels. Of the cycles, Non-REM Stage N3 “slow wave” sleep is the most restorative for the entire body. It’s associated with delta brainwaves, slowed breathing and heart rate, tissue repair and growth, cellular regeneration and strengthening of the immune system.⁷

The human body could be viewed as a large circuit, that requires regularly running at low power in order to optimize pathways, including neurons. The brain flushes out waste by way of cerebrospinal fluid. That could perhaps in part explain occasions of nonsensical dreams.

Sleep is an overarching and also enjoyable maintenance process that facilitates many other useful processes. In order to maximize regeneration and longevity, smart self care must include deliberate periods of dormancy. That’s of course readily available to us now. For those struggling, creation of a relaxing environment or having a ritual is ideal.

Well known remedies and aids for sleep include Melatonin —which can come from plant food sources like Tart Cherry and Gogi — fresh Dill, Chamomile, Valerian, Lavender and more.⁸ It’s also been demonstrated that listening to theta and delta waves in the form of binaural beats before sleep helps to synchronize brainwaves.⁹

Power Plants: Spooky Adaptogenic Tea + Supernatural Joint Paste

The Tea = Moringa + Holy Basil

• Moringa benefits include extremely high nutrient content that helps the body heal and build muscle.

• Holy Basil benefits include being a potent adaptogen that helps soothe stress.

The Extracts in The Tea = Chlorophyll/Peppermint Oil + Ashwagandha/Reishi

• Benefits of Chlorophyll include neutralizing toxins, healing damaged skin and promotion of red blood cell creation and health.

• Benefits of Peppermint oil include pain relief, preventing aches & pains, and hair growth.

• Benefits of ashwagandha, another potent adaptogen, include calming the brain and boosting fertility.

• Benefits of Reishi include improving sleep, plus lowering blood pressure and cholesterol.

Now that is a fully loaded tea! Not a casual beverage, for special occasions but safe for semi-regular consumption. It’s important to pay attention to mineral content and not overdo it.

The Joint Paste = Flax Oil + Collagen + CBD Oil + Trehalose

• Benefits of Flax Oil include being a high powered anti-inflammatory and locking in moisture.

• Benefits of Collagen may include improving skin elasticity and blood flow to the skin.

This is not a casual joint paste either and I consider it a reward for the reward of focused training! It could absolutely be used for joints in general, and the formula tweaked as one sees fit.

Examining Biological Immortality In Nature

Rose of Jericho — Just add water

We don’t have to look far for examples of biological immortality. Upon closer examination, it’s clear we’re inspired and influenced by nature, in which we take part and are not separate from.

The first spectacular specimen comes from the world of flora, The Rose Of Jericho, also known as the “resurrection plant.” This desert moss repeatedly survives long periods of desiccation, reanimating upon hydration. One way it lasts is by producing a protective sugar called “trehalose” which preserves cell membranes. Trehalose is common to cocoons, and in the human realm, cryopreservation of cells.¹ Some dietary sources of the disaccharide include sunflowers seeds and shiitake mushrooms.

Perhaps the ancient Egyptians sought to emulate the behavior of desert plants when developing the mummification process, although inexactly because they did it after death instead of before. (The common ingredient in embalming fluid is the Trehalose in Acacia.) Plants in arid climates have developed advanced and fascinating methods for survival. They predate us by a long shot, and we have a lot to keep learning from them.

The Bristlecone Pine — how to live for thousands of years

A larger example from the plant kingdom is the Bristlecone Pine, a gnarly tree native to North America in high altitudes. What’s the secret to living thousands of years? A powerful stash of stem cells that functions as an ongoing back-up genome! The cells only divide when they need to, a process regulated by stress response proteins.²

Let’s translate this back to the human condition for a moment. For starters, stem cell treatments are becoming more common. And controlled stressors can be tools for longevity, such as: exercise, intermittent fasting, and sitting in the sauna — to name a few practical options. These types of activities are known to stimulate the FOXO (Forkhead box O, for the shape) protective genes, common amongst the animal kingdom, from the 30mm sea creature the Hydra to the human.³ Here are some dietary sources connected to FOXO: Green tea (ECGC), Apples (Quercetin) and Turmeric (Curcumin).⁴

Regenerative Axolotl looking cheerful

The Hydra and the Axolotl salamander are animals that definitely have us outFOXed. Both of them are able to regenerate limbs by using a remarkable on board healing process in which, upon trauma, cells begin rapidly dividing to create new complete structures. If this isn’t intelligence I don’t know what is. Exactly how they achieve this is still up for speculation — clearly though, a highly advanced immune system at work. Perhaps more answers lie in the emergent field of quantum biology, with concepts like transdifferentiation, resonance and transmutation.

The next curious specimen comes from tropical seas, the internet biology sensation: The “immortal jellyfish” or Turritopsis dohrnii. This creature reproduces asexually and is indeed biologically immortal, able to renew its life cycle.

Immortal Jellyfish, the OG – original guru

Jellyfish have been around for 500-700 million years, the oldest of the [known] old in addition to microorganisms. What may seem like primitive body structure at first glance is the product of the amazing evolutionary choice of simplicity in order to survive in their lane. That is, their bodies are nerve networks with no need for organs. Nutrients freely pass through their gelatinous membranes.⁵ In a way, a jellyfish is a floating brain.

Personally I have no desire to exist as a gelatinous membrane, but with the advent of nanotechnology, it’s possible for our cells and systems to learn new tricks. And this is a good moment to mention that I’m against animal testing beyond cultures or tissue samples. Given current developments and understanding, there’s no need for it.

Tardigrade aka “Water Bear” may have already colonized the Moon

Speaking of tricks, that brings me to the final example of biological immortality, although there are actually many more: The Tardigrade.

It should be no surprise that microorganisms like the Tardigrade are so advanced — they’ve been around 3.5 billion years on Earth. Like the Rose of Jericho, Tardigrade can survive desiccation, and then also radiation and the vacuum of space, to name a few. It was discovered by humans interestingly enough in 1773 and dubbed Tardigrada, or “slow stepper” in Italian, for its ability to slow down its metabolism to a state of “cryptobiosis.”⁶

Tardigrades are definitely advanced survivalists. In addition to producing the aforementioned sugar Trehalose in preserving themselves, they put several other techniques to use in extreme conditions. These include: transforming or “vitrifying” their cytoplasm into glass, producing large quantities of antioxidants, mechanizing proteins that protect their DNA from damage, and both sexually and asexually reproducing. In short, they’re at a relatively higher level in their evolution than we are.

There’s much for us to look forward to though, and look at in the present in amazement. Biology is an exciting field that continues to show us there’s more to be discovered; on Earth, cosmically and beyond. Life as a voyage of discovery is unending. On that note, I’m going to go have some green tea and sauté up some shiitakes.

Power Plants: Triphala For Digestive Health & More

https://www.healthifyme.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Triphala-The-Reason-Behind-its-Name.jpg

Triphala is a synergistic blend of three plants — Haritaki (nut-like fruit), Bibhitaki (tree fruit) and Amla (gooseberry) — for different powerful remedies, including but definitely not limited to digestive issues. They are each powerful on their own, but as a combination even more so. In passing I read that Haritaki is used for, among many things, helping with dark circles under the eyes, which is in part a circulatory issue.

Triphala has been around at least a thousand years as a staple of Indian ayurvedic medicine, which has been getting more attention in the US — probably because that modality is gentler and more respectful of the body.

This article is very informative and I highly recommend:

Another top shelf Super Yuck Smoothie

Triphala is a part of this fiber blend I found recently. It became part of the next of my Super Yuck smoothies series. This one despite the name was delicious, though. The base is turmeric coconut milk from Trader Joe’s.

The Supplement Nerd keeps things basic by mostly sticking to the plant or main ingredient with little to no additives, and recommends research.

Reality Check: Microorganisms-R-Us

None of these passed my inspection

Not that I was totally surprised by this, but I Didn’t find any shampoo and conditioner at the TJ Maxx that passed my personal safety standards for toxins. And these are also to my knowledge the standards of California and Europe. All the products I looked at contain ingredients that I would definitely not want to rub on myself on a regular basis. It shouldn’t be hard to find simple bath, hair products and cosmetics that aren’t packed with suspicious ingredients, including known carcinogens. It’s funny science is cherry-picked or ignored in this category.

Many ingredients in these large department stores baffle me, like certain preservatives, because the shampoo doesn’t need to last for an eternity! (Plastic too – oops!) They need to move product off the shelves anyway.

Tonight’s most baffling moment was when I saw an ingredient called DMDM hydantoin on a sleek bottle. I look things up — I’m a conscious interested shopper. And I found out right away with my handy smartphone that DMDM hydantoin Is a formaldehyde releaser. It’s an anti-microbial and also a known carcinogen. Lots of personal products still contain known carcinogens. Pay attention and do a little research – that’s my unsolicited advice. There’s almost always a simpler healthier alternative. I walked out of there without shampoo and conditioner, but the good news is that I can buy my regular brand with all recognizable ingredients from Trader Joe’s.

The seeming prevalence of cancer is no surprise given the proliferation of products with irresponsible ingredients to say the least. As I said before, California and Europe are better about regulating. In my opinion these decisions whether to include possibly toxic ingredients or not should be a no-brainer for the manufacturer. To be fair though alcohol is toxic but people seem to Love the awful side effects. So then, it’s also a decision for the consumer, because the ingredients are clearly listed on the labels of packaged products.

For my part, I would rather keep my consumption to what I know is nourishing and works well. Environmental improvement is a large issue, yet these are relatively easy decisions that affect my personal environment and health.

The issue with using a lot of antibacterial and anti-microbials and trying to wipe out microorganisms is that we need them, and they are part of us and balanced biosystems and ecosystems. Most microorganisms are harmless, if not beneficial. Gut health has been a hot topic lately for this reason — Because antibacterials and anti-microbials have been overused in products *and foods.* Fighting things is increasingly showing to be futile. And it’s no wonder people have strange food allergies and are getting cancer when suspect substances are proliferating through products designed for everyday use. It’s all well and good to find cures but root causes also have to be addressed.

TJ Maxx is not alone among department stores in not currently passing the bath product inspection — I really enjoy that store though for other things. One has to pay a bit of attention at grocery stores too, depending on which one. Overall, when it comes to something I eat or rub on my skin, I am choosy. I mean, why add any formaldehyde to the mix? California says no to that, and also in furniture too.

I found out this information tonight about DMDM, for one, by typing some of the multi syllabic words on the bottle into Google, followed by a face palm. I’m posting this not to alarm but inform— I just feel like it’s important to point out that product choice is a controllable preventative health factor, that one could act on without having to wait for manufacturing (or adaptation…?) to catch up. Things will have to improve though and there are plenty of healthier choices out there without much price difference.

Tech + Environment: Plasma Arc Gasification & Vaporization / Sublimation Trashcan + Receptacles — Revolutionizing Waste Management

https://waste-management-world.com/a/plasma-gasification-clean-renewable-fuel-through-vaporization-of-waste

I have a rudimentary design of a trashcan that uses a laser in the process of vaporizing / gasifying or sublimating waste to either produce ideal byproducts like even Oxygen or Water, or quite “simply” keep infinitely re-energizing the process of the can! Fortunately these methods are up & coming in waste treatment plants. But individual use — that would really be a game changer:

One emerging technology is “plasma gasification” for mass applications or “plasma arc gasification.” See more description in the photo below. There’s also “cold plasma” — that’s another avenue.

https://www.britannica.com/technology/plasma-arc-gasification

And get this — the “slag” can become silicon, limestone, or aluminum, Among other useful byproducts! The technology and processes need to be developed and put to widespread use as soon as possible.

Industrial Plasma Gasification

Of course the housing or material for a trashcan has to be appropriate for a laser and included internal processes – some type of steel perhaps… The laser would pass between 2 points though, not touching the sides of the can.

https://biglaserpointers.com/5000mw-lasers/22-jupiter-the-most-powerful-handheld-burning-laser-pointer.html?bt_product_attribute=1181&gclid=CjwKCAjwhuCKBhADEiwA1HegOfAj-NYYPc1hucX0CCE_dhkYpsrcOOxEN0xmo1QOftTfXEreZvx_sRoCVzEQAvD_BwE#/26-laser_power-5000mw/8-laser_color-blue_450nm

As for the handheld portable lasers, that becomes the stuff of Star Wars! Hey, it’s out there. The above laser that instantly burns does indeed resemble a light saber.

What I have in mind for that is *ionic vaporization* though that sublimates or deconstructs molecular structure without combustion. The byproduct would have to beneficial like oxygen or nitrogen though… What a fascinating can of worms. To be continued.

The Dept Of ID: A Mineral Map Of The Solar System

The Department Of Ideas & Design

What feels like way back in 2020, I explored possibilities of space mining with this drawing. It represents all the possibilities out there without having to carve up the earth. Robotics would no doubt come in to play with dangerous mining operations.

However, since I made the drawing I have been researching the synthetic mineral production techniques out there and it seems like that is a growing trend.

For example, the company Aether diamonds Is extracting CO2 from the atmosphere to make diamonds. Other types of crystals can be artificially or synthetically produced.

The overall point of the drawing is to expand beyond the earth and keep it real. There are numerous options besides continuing to dig in and dredge/destroy this planet. And of course mining can become ridiculously and destructively political as well.

I may create another post about companies focused on synthetic production because if it’s easy to do, there’s no conflict. Personally— although there is a multitude of minerals out there — I roll my eyes at the idea of potential space wars.

The Sunday Investor: Future Vision

CIRCUIT / SUBSTRATE by Studio Shangri-La

In order to experience a sustainable world environment, it’s necessary to promote the free flow of technology, ideas and resources.

The most important technology to adopt first on a large scale is that of green electric energy. Far from being a new concept, it requires no further justification.

Switching modes of energy should no longer be a matter of regulation, but of logic and improvement. There are many related green technologies with no emissions.

The most up to date, forward thinking technologies should be at the forefront. True solutions analytically address root causes.

No amount of words from me, for example, would equate to me either rolling up my sleeves And picking up trash off the ground, or finding or inventing a device that helps with waste management. Of course it’s not all on any one person — I’m just making a point.

Waste management is another important sector in which to prioritize the most cutting edge technology. In a previous post I mentioned Plasma arc Gasification, that converts waste into fuel and other useful byproducts.

That would be part of the revamped circular society, that puts the most logical sustainable solutions to pressing issues in place. That’s the future vision.

Educational curriculums should be current and encourage intellectualism. That is, People learn how the world and how organizing mechanisms operate. And there is a free flow of ideas and information, the continuation and extension of the digital age.

In my not original opinion, the utopian vision is a fusion of nature and human technology. They can in fact work side-by-side.

Green energy overall, innovative waste management techniques, generally eliminating the proliferation of known toxins and predatory capitalism, and also updating to the most efficient food production methods from different cultures. All of that contributes and amounts to a better safer world for all of us. Constant warfare has had its day, to say the least!

The US and other countries should cease being invasive for resources. The land is rich everywhere and so are the minds.

When it comes to mining, there are artificial synthesis techniques now to prevent environmental depletion. Silicon for example, in constant demand, can be easily produced.

And now, so can meat. The cultured meat industry is set to take off. As for any unease about that, it’s clear that animal husbandry on a massive scale is both environmentally destructive and cruel. We can adapt.

Returning to mining — Another possible avenue is space mining, especially asteroids. That’s not a casual endeavor, but it makes sense for plentitude of minerals and space exploration. Space mining could be a topic in another Sunday Investor post, with full recognition that mining could perhaps be mostly replaced by synthetic techniques.

The nature of currency is shifting a bit, but not the nature of value. I use the word “nature.” Nature and cosmos, aside from any system we use for organization, are inherently valuable.

And also being inherently valuable, WE Are here to witness and interact with our seemingly limitless surroundings.

You’ll never hear me complain about “Billionaires” launching themselves into space because I think humanity is due for expansion. (Yes though, I do think they should pay their fair share of taxes.)

That’s not the only mode of expansion, though. There is room for everyone to participate as desired.

Someone asked me recently: “Is there room for me?” in such and such a category or activity. And I said of course. There are so many avenues of expression open to us now, both natural pre-existing and that we’ve created for ourselves from those building blocks.

Plus once we get to other planets – especially those earthlike planets – with Deep space propulsion technology, there will be even more room!

The human mind is gifted with complex strategy — That’s where computers get it from.

Here’s an anecdote to illustrate: Seasonally a large amount of fish die out and beach on the banks of the Charles River. Boat pollution is of course another issue. Anyway, those fish find themselves oxygen deprived and not knowing what’s going on, and they just flop around aimlessly ‘til they pass on to Great Spirit.

Humans are not like this. We have strategy. I thought: Well, if a fish partially submerged itself and then breathed the air, it could perhaps survive until the water became more hospitable.

That’s a human strategy for survival. We’ve made it this far, thanks in part to the fish. Also, we’re not dinosaurs either. We have spaceships, we have solar technology, and all other aforementioned tools and innovations. We have logic, discernment, and judgment to be positively used.

Lastly, and the Sunday Investor will continue exploring this, there’s a treasure trove of undeveloped metaphysical Technologies that can and should be tapped into responsibly, Such as that of electrostatics and sound.

These valuable concepts and associated research should become mainstream, instead of on the fringes or tangled up in the jargon and red tape of academia and administrations.

^^ A gem of a video on auto conversion to get a sense of what would take place! Very interesting.

And how about solar boat conversions? >>

https://shopsolarkits.com/products/complete-diy-solar-panel-kit-10?currency=USD&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&c1=GAW&source=prospecting&cr2=shopping_-us-_off-grid_kits&kw=shopify_US_6578007507084_39340072042636&cr7=m&gclid=CjwKCAjwndCKBhAkEiwAgSDKQY37dW9LUgMa61e7v3f5POhV1yUM_eKfYz-BaP0VypCd6hvasV7xExoCbo8QAvD_BwE

I can’t make a specific recommendations but there are plenty of products on the online market for converting both cars and boats to solar.

Solar and electric conversions and more accessible than ever, as well as just buying a new vehicle. There are a growing number of solar boats companies now including SolarCat and Silent Yachts.

Here in Boston it’s relatively easy to find boat repair shops, and mechanics. Boat or car mechanics could perform the conversion for perhaps less than a new vehicle, depending on the vehicle.

Now here’s the grand finale — The Electric Barges:

https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1128410_electric-barge-carries-its-batteries-in-a-shipping-container

At last! The company Wärtsilä is producing green barges and ferries using large onboard batteries. This should definitely be a new normal as large ships are a major source of ocean pollution. And the health of the ocean and earth is directly connected to our health.

Power Plants: Yarrow For Flu + Much More

Achillea millefolium / herba militaris

The common yarrow with distinctive yellow flowers is an extremely valuable edible medicinal plant, so don’t mow it down – collect some or grow some, dry it out or use it fresh.

“Yarrow is used for fever, common cold, hay fever, absence of menstruation, dysentery, diarrhea, loss of appetite, gastrointestinal (GI) tract discomfort, and to induce sweating. Some people chew the fresh leaves to relieve toothache.”

https://www.rxlist.com/yarrow/supplements.htm#Overview

As for the Root:

“Yarrow has been used to induce sweating and to stop wound bleeding. It also has been reported to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding and pain. It has been used to relieve GI ailments, for cerebral and coronary thromboses, to lower high blood pressure, to improve circulation, and to tone varicose veins.”

https://www.drugs.com/npc/yarrow.html

Lastly, yarrow is edible raw and is easy to collect or “forage”:

“Yarrow is a soft herb, like tarragon. The herb has a strong licorice-like aroma with a sweet flavor and a somewhat bitter and astringent finish. The strong aroma remains even when Yarrow is dried.”

https://specialtyproduce.com/produce/Yarrow_10398.php

There will likely be a follow-up to this post with a recipe.

Power Plants: BURDOCK — Superfood, All-Purpose Medicinal & Inspiration For Velcro

Somewhat common to Asian cuisine, the root of a burdock plant, or Arctium (meaning “bear”?), provides numerous preventative and remedial benefits as well as being tasty. The many benefits include digestive health and skin condition.

You may have encountered one before — they propagate themselves by hooking onto things with the burs the surround their flowers, a remarkable adaptation for spreading seeds. For this reason Burdock directly inspired the design of Velcro!

The entire plant with exception of the burs is edible, but the most benefit comes from the roots. It can be consumed as a dish, tea or extract.

Boycott / Complete Halt Of The Year: All Animal Testing

Not even joking

This is amazing news and how about just putting a stop to it now, instead of phasing it out. As I’ve been posting, we already have all the remedies that we need at our disposal thanks to planet earth. We also have technology now that doesn’t Rely on brutalistic testing.

A ban on animal testing is necessary but aside from law, all it takes Is a moral compass to stop doing this. One way to put a stop to suffering in the world is to stop inflicting it. Ceasing to engage in torture, murder, deliberate cruelty – that’s obvious stuff now. I care about animals very much because they’re bystanders, because they were here before us, and in a way helped make us. And don’t say I don’t care about people — All you have to do is look at the Previous posts here.

Putting an end to animal testing is *not* sacrifice because it’s technologically unnecessary. Eating vegan is *not* a sacrifice because plants provide more than enough nutrients. The political scheme or archetype of martyrdom or even crucifixion – there I said it – is completely ridiculous and archaic. No animal would naturally play circus or run into a burning building For the stupid things that humans do. Martyrdom would not even occur were it not for stupidity.

Consider this: what we are experiencing in part with the pandemic is nature defending itself against us since we’ve been identified as an invasive/destructive force or species. There is of course the saying that you reap what you sow — and the origins of COVID-19 are traced to animal cruelty.

Now nature is like: “I’ll show you balance of power.”

The new better definition of power is of the self-mastery and personal power variety, Not the domination and control of the other variety which has become quite obviously outdated, and also ineffective and fruitless. As I say this I realize I can only account for myself and my own choices. When I speak up about something like this I feel it’s important because they don’t have a choice. They’re not harming us either – quite the opposite. Torturing sentient beings is just wrong, Especially when it’s for so-called medicine that doesn’t even work anyway. I mean, what kind of medicine could possibly come out of torture — more torture!

Power Plants: Astragalus For Immune System

Astragalus Is a flowering herb used primarily for but not only for immune system support and protection. It’s also been linked to healthy telomeres — Those are the end structures of chromosomes.

As I’ve mentioned before I prefer to take herbal supplements and remedies in alcohol-free extract form that’s alcohol free, for rapid absorption and ease of digestion. Here’s the link to the Vitamin Shoppe line of extracts which are great.

I think an interesting thing to point out is that generations and generations did this trial and error Research before us to figure out what plants work for what conditions. There is more to figure out of course but one doesn’t have to start over at zero. There is multicultural documentation of plant remedies. And that’s what modern medicine is at its core — It just turned down a dark alley in my opinion.

Boycott Of The Month: Zoos

Zoos are a travesty — that’s all I can really say. Oh, just think about if we encountered a more advanced species and how we would want them to treat us.

New Artworks From Studio Shangri-La

All of these can be found on Turning Art and coming soon on Saatchi art, society 6 And Fine Art America. TurningArt Boston has become my go to because they provide a multitude of services. The works can be rented or purchased both physically and digitally, which is great for both individuals and businesses for different purposes. Links can be found on the art page. I’m looking forward to when the new stuff hits Society6 because they produce different items, accessories and apparel.

The Road Ahead is made from different sunset photos taken in Medford along the Mystic River path. The total is inspired not only by the visual effect but also a song lyric that I got from a dream which will appear in the upcoming album.

Leaves of Paradise is quite simply made of the leaves of a bird of paradise.

You Are Here, which is a visually complex work, is a deconstruction of a deteriorated sign at Copley Place Boston. There are different symbols that reveal themselves in this work like gamma and epsilon. I could rattle on about physics here but I won’t for the moment. There are many ways of looking into and interpreting this work so please go right ahead.

Royal Quartz I posted about already check back a few blog posts ago.

Minerals Feature: APATITE

“Apatite is not actually a specific mineral, but rather, is a name for a group of similar isomorphous hexagonal phosphate minerals.” — University of Waterloo, Earth Sciences Museum https://uwaterloo.ca/earth-sciences-museum/resources/detailed-rocks-and-minerals-articles/apatite

“Khepri” — Exploring The Electrostatic Field with Art & The Egyptian Scarab

watermarked

I took this group of images of trees and canopy at the Mystic River Reservation, then mirrored and rotated them, and there appeared Khepri, the scarab, and also the shape of electrostatic field flow — see below for diagram.

Conveniently for this mini article, the letter K (for Khepri) is also in physics representative of the electrostatic field or Coulomb constant present throughout the universe.

The Egyptian representation as life force – if that is what’s intended – is more effective because it describes shape and possibly behavior of the field.

There’s much to discover and rediscover with arts & sciences. A lot Nikola Tesla’s work is based on harnessing energy from the electrostatic field. Those patents are open source.
